Hysterectomies: An Audit at A Tertiary Care Public Sector Hospital in Lahore, Pakistan

Background: Hysterectomy is a common gynecological surgery worldwide. Thorough preoperative clinical and radiological assessment of the patients followed by histopathological evaluation specimens mandatory for providing good health care services to patients. Objective: The objective study was analyze spectrum findings in hysterectomy & correlate them with their findings. Patients Methods: This retrospective, descriptive, cross sectional study, carried out at Pathology Department Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Lahore. All hysterectomies received department from 1st December 2018 30th November 2020 were included study. Data collected, age patient, presentation, findings, type performed complete histopathology report specimen. analyzed using SPSS version 17. Results: A total 637 ranged 22 years 80 mean 46 ± 9 years. commonest indication uterine mass (47.7%). Most frequent (USG/ CT scan/MRI) finding mass/polyps (52%). surgical procedure abdominal (52.4%). On evaluation, 99% cases showed chronic cervicitis. diagnosis corpus leiomyoma. Uterine malignancy accounted 7.3% 4.7% done ovarian malignancies.
